ABSTRACT

Feeding is the most basic activity of daily living(ADL) necessary for survival from birth and throughout the life span. Handicapped children who have feeding problem may have delayed development of oral reflexes, oral function & behavior. The occupational therapist designing oral motor treatment must have a complete understanding of normal oral development and function. Thus, this paper has the purpose to provide an overview of normal development of oral motor function for occupational therapist feeding problem.
