ABSTRACT
Objective: The purpose of this study is to analyze the cognitive rehabilitation approach applied to occupational stroke patients as practiced by domestic and overseas occupational therapists, and to propose the effectiveness and practicality of clinical intervention. Methods: We searched for studies from 2008 to 2017 through Pubmed, CINAHL (EBSCOhost), PSYCINFO, KISS, and RISS using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis guidelines (PRISMA guidelines). The key search terms were 'Stroke AND Occupational Therapy AND Cognitive Rehabilitation.' The inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied to a total of 17 studies. Results: The results were analyzed through a qualitative analysis of the research, a quantitative meta-analysis, categorization of the cognitive rehabilitation approach, FAME classification for the domestic clinical utility, and a post-intervention measurement tool. The orthodontic approach, adaptive approach, and dynamic interaction approach showed moderate effects, and the functional approach showed a small effect. Conclusion: This study was designed to suggest an approach that can be applied immediately in Korea by examining the cognitive rehabilitation approach applied to stroke patients as practiced by domestic and overseas occupational therapists. In the future, many approaches should be supplemented, and various approaches should be applied to clinical practice in Korea.
