ABSTRACT

Objective: The purpose of this study is to derive items of occupational performance activities of elementary school students reflecting a Korean context. The aim is to develop a occupational performance evaluation that can be useful for occupational therapists. Methods: A literature review and expert consensus were drawn up for the Delphi survey. A total of three Delphi surveys were conducted to develop the final items. There were 40 participants (16 occupational therapists, 16 elementary school teachers, and 8 occupational therapy professors). Each survey used a questionnaire, which was a mixture of structured and open questions. Results: The results of each Delphi survey were identified based on their importance, stability, and CVR. Based on responses to open questions, the decision was made to delete, modify, or add items. A total of 29 final items were then received and classified based on the category of OTPF-III and the behavioral classification of a life survey. Conclusion: The final items of occupational activities for elementary school students reflecting Korean culture were derived. We expect that occupational therapists will be easily and effectively used in evaluations and interviews for selecting occupations with meaningful activities.
