ABSTRACT

Objective: To provide information for identifying the frequency of the evaluation tools used for measurement purposes, and to select the appropriate measurement according to the trends and the characteristics. Methods: From September 2013 to June 2022, cognitive frailty OR ( cognitive impairment OR cognitive decline ) AND ( frailty OR frail ) AND ( measurement OR assessment OR screening OR evaluation ) were searched, and a total of 48 studies were collected. A systematic review was conducted using PRISMA 2020. Results: CF have shown an increasing trend in recent years, especially in Asia. The Fried’s index was the most commonly used tool for evaluating physical frailty at 63.27%, followed by the 5-item FRAIL tool at 16.33%. As tools for evaluating the level of cognitive function, MMSE was widely used in 42.31% of the cases, CDR was used in 17.31%, and MoCA and NCGG-FAT were used in 11.54%. Conclusion: In this study, widely used CF evaluation tools were examined. Evaluation tools are important in terms of the early diagnosis of disease and the quality of the research conducted. This study is meaningful in that it can provide information on measurement tools that can be evaluated more practically and objectively when selecting subjects in future studies.
