ABSTRACT
Objective: This study aimed to validate the reliability and validity of the Yonsei Lifestyle Profile-Active, Balanced, Connected, Diverse (YLP-ABCD) for younger adults and explore its potential as a healthy lifestyle assessment tool applicable across age groups. Methods: 599 individuals participated in an online survey, 300 adults (aged 18-54 years) and 299 older adults (aged 55 years). Descriptive statistics and frequency ≥ analyses were conducted to identify demographic characteristics. Reliability was assessed by analyzing internal consistency using Cronbach's α and the Spearman-Brown coefficient. Concurrent validity was evaluated by comparing the correlation coefficient differences between the adult and older adult groups using Fisher’s z-test. Results: The YLP-ABCD demonstrated high reliability in physical activity, nutrition, social relationships, and occupational participation (Cronbach’s α = 0.929; Spearman-Brown coefficient = 0.627). There were no significant differences in the correlation coefficients between the adult and older adult groups (p > 0.05), confirming consistent validity across both groups. Conclusion: This study confirmed that the YLP-ABCD is a reliable and valid assessment tool for both adults and older adults. These findings support the use of the YLP-ABCD as a valid tool for lifestyle assessment across age groups, suggesting its potential utility in the development of customized health management programs for diverse age populations.
