ABSTRACT

Objective : The purpose of this study is to investigate the job market for occupational therapists by analyzing job advertisements. Methods : Data were collected from an online community site. A total of 8,753 job advertisements from 2011 to 2015 were analyzed according to region, employment pattern, pay level, month, and field of recruitment. Results : According to the region, the number of job advertisements was 5,272 (60.2%) in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, and concentrated metropolitan areas. According to the employment pattern, the number of regular workers who responded to the job advertisements was 6,467 (73.9%). The highest percentage of full-time recruitment appeared in Daegu (86.1%). According to the pay level, less than 25,000,000 won was paid in 6,944 of the cases (79.8%). According to time, the job advertisements were most frequently published from December to January. According to the field of recruitment, jobs for adult/elderly care units were at more than 80%. Conclusion : This study showed a changing job market in the field of occupational therapy, and further research on demand and supply for various fields is needed for helping make a policy for occupational therapy supplements in Korea.
