ABSTRACT

Objective: This research aims to identify trends in dementia assistive device research by using text mining to analyze key keywords related to subjects, application environments, types of assistive devices, and purposes of usage. Methods: We collected 1,126 studies from databases, and 11,366 words were extracted using the KH coder program. Researchers reviewed the extracted words to classify keywords related to the subject of assistive device, application environment, purpose of assistive device, applied assistive device. Term frequency analysis was performed on the extracted keywords, and Co-occurrence network was created through Co-occurrence networks analysis. Results: As a result of this study, the most studied subjects, environment, applied purpose, and assistive device types were informal caregiver, home, social assist, program/apps. As a result of Co Word Analysis, Informal caregivers showed a correlation with psychological assistance and caring, and caring was correlated with telecare. social assistance was related to the program/app and robot. Conclusion: The subject, environment, purpose, and assistive devices of dementia assistive devices studies were identified, and the relationship between each area was confirmed. The result of this study will be considered to provide information on the selection of assistive devices for various situations and purposes of the subjects, and to provide guidelines for policies to support dementia patients.
