ABSTRACT

Objective : This study aimed to standardize the training curriculum for mental health occupational therapists using the Delphi method. Methods : A three-stage research process was conducted. First, a literature review and an analysis of relevant data were conducted to identify the core competencies required for mental health occupational therapy practice. Second, the curricula of domestic mental health occupational therapy training institutions were examined to identify common educational components. Third, a Delphi survey was conducted with mental health occupational therapy experts to evaluate the appropriateness of the proposed educational topics. Results : Based on the literature review and curriculum analysis, educational topics were developed according to qualification level and year of training and subsequently validated through the Delphi survey. A total of 33 topics were identified for Level 2 or first-year Level 1 training, 38 topics for second-year Level 1 training, and 22 topics for third-year Level 1 training. Conclusion : Through a systematic process involving a literature review, analysis of domestic training curricula, and expert consensus, educational topics for mental health occupational therapy training were standardized. These topics should be incorporated into established guidelines to support the expansion of training institutions and promote consistent training quality.
